Connect, communicate and respect · Lesson 05 / 08

Disagree with reasons

The group needs a poster readable from a distance. Jo prefers small letters to fit more text; Bia proposes shorter sentences and larger letters. Proposals can be compared without belittling people.

Let's discover together

  1. 1

A reason connects proposal and goal: “Small letters may make reading from a distance difficult.” “Your idea is silly” judges without explaining the problem to solve.

  2. 2

The group can make two simple versions and check reading at the intended location. Voting may organize a choice but does not replace checking requirements such as readability and access.

  3. 3

Changing your mind after a test is allowed. A reasoned disagreement may also remain. The conversation aims to improve the decision and preserve respect, not force everyone to like the same thing.

✦
YOUR MISSION

Offer an objection connected to the goal and propose a way to check it.

Disagree with reasons

The agreed requirement is reading the poster from the doorway. No test has taken place there yet.
Build your answers and check when you are ready.
A moment to understand

Which objection helps evaluate the poster?

I need a hint

The test examines a criterion tied to the goal. Popularity does not demonstrate readability; preferences may be considered after access requirements.

Take it with you

Invent two proposals for a group task. Give a reason for each and a criterion to compare them. Write how to disagree without attacking the proposer.
