The Rullst Academy idea

A place for those who never stop asking.

Rullst Academy starts with a simple idea: learning can feel as satisfying as building something you imagined.

How we maintain the curriculum

We choose references for their quality, audience and the teaching problem they help address. Dates matter, but a newer publication does not automatically replace sound foundations. We combine curriculum guidance, learning research and technical documentation.

References and their role

  • CSTA PK–12 · 2026

School-level computing progression, including AI, security and social impacts.

  • DigComp 3.0 · 2025

Digital competence for everyday life: information, creation, participation, well-being and critical AI use.

  • CS2023 · ACM / IEEE-CS / AAAI

Breadth and depth in computer science. University-level workload is not imposed on children’s paths.

  • UNESCO · AI Competency Framework · 2024

Understand and evaluate AI, consider affected people and decide when to use it.

  • MDN Curriculum

Web, HTML, CSS and JavaScript foundations, with maintained practices and documentation.

  • W3C · WCAG 2.2

Accessibility criteria for examples and reviews; citing the standard does not certify the site.

  • CAST · UDL 3.0

Options for participation, understanding and demonstrating learning while preserving the goal.

  • IES · Organizing Instruction and Study

Worked examples, independent attempts and spaced review. This guide dates from 2007: its age is explicit and its application needs evaluation.

Technical lessons use the projects’ own sources: Rust, Python, Git, GitHub, SQLite, MDN and the Rullst version used by the exercise. Further-reading links accompany relevant activities. Pinned versions make examples reproducible; changes require review and testing before an upgrade.

How review becomes improvement

We check the objective, explanation, example, assessment and original challenge. The learning sequence asks you to observe, predict, try, explain and revisit with less help. A correct quiz answer is limited evidence; tests and projects need to show what was done and what remains unclear.

These sources guide editorial choices; they do not imply endorsement, certification or full equivalence. Review is progressive and does not guarantee that every tool always uses the newest version. Independent teaching, translation and accessibility reviews, and trials with learners, still need expansion.

What changed in this review

The September 22 review covered the 30 paths then available and the structure of 232 lessons, improving references, next steps and examples. We then added Rullst Applications I: 14 lessons connecting an interface, API, SQLite, tests and recovery. We also added Data, Probability and Statistics I: 12 lessons investigating data, samples and uncertainty through an original report. Guided revisiting appears on paths and final missions. Correcting content and testing software do not, by themselves, establish each person’s learning.

Completions and XP record Rullst Academy assessments. An introductory track can help everyday life and prepare further study; alone it does not prove complete mastery or professional readiness. Level indicates depth, not age.

Start with what makes sense

First, an application you can explore. Then, the ideas and foundations that make it work. We go from Rullst to Rust, with room to go deeper.

More than one way to discover

Explore paths in mathematics, critical thinking, programming, Rust, Rullst, web, data, AI, security and robotics. The catalog distinguishes available paths from planned expansions and helps you choose the next step.

A journey that respects you

Short explanations, visual examples and read-aloud help you start. Children can study with a trusted adult; early readers may still need help. Choose your pace, language and theme.

Learn with privacy

Your account stores progress and achievements. You can choose a nickname after registering and decide whether to publish a profile with XP and achievements. Passwords are hashed; attempts and quiz content stay private. We use no third-party trackers.

Our commitment

A free beginning. More possibilities ahead.

Access to Rullst Academy is currently free. To support new content, we plan to keep basic courses free and offer the full catalog through a subscription. Subscriptions are not available yet and billing is not active.

Your subscription supports this project

When subscriptions become available, all revenue from monthly and annual plans will support the maintenance and development of Rullst Academy, the open-source Rullst framework and its dependencies, including operating and payment-processing costs. Ways of supporting dependencies will be detailed as they are defined.

Access and future plans
Free

Learn without a subscription

Explore available tracks, save progress and earn achievements without charge at this stage. The future model will include a selection of free basic courses. The division between free and paid courses will be announced before subscriptions launch.

IN THE MAKING

Teach and share

We are planning tools for teachers to create and offer lessons for free, with no paid lesson limits and no Rullst certification requirement. Course creation is not available yet.

IN THE MAKING

Optional official certifications

In the future, paid assessments will be offered for Rullst technical certification and the Rullst Certified Educator credential. Payment will cover assessment; passing will depend on published criteria. Neither will be required to learn or teach on Rullst Academy. They are not on sale yet.

You can already earn XP, achievements and the first path's medal. Free completion certificates are on the roadmap: they will record the path you completed, without being equivalent to Rullst professional certification.

Built entirely with the framework Rullst.

An expanding universe

Continue through the available paths and follow upcoming discoveries. Cloud, systems, advanced AI and cybersecurity, and quantum computing remain planned.
