DNS organizes information about domain names. To connect to a service, programs may query A (IPv4) or AAAA (IPv6) records for addresses. DNS has other record types; it is not merely a list of pages.

A resolver looks up the needed information and may reuse a cached answer while valid. Names can map to several addresses, and different names can share an address. The relation need not be one-to-one.

Receiving an address through DNS does not deliver HTML, log you in or prove the service works. Appropriate communication and a response are still needed.

For a resolution failure, first check spelling and context. Do not change DNS, firewall or router just to complete this lesson. The local project uses 127.0.0.1: this loopback address avoids external DNS dependence.
