Attention and a cue to return

Ravi paused an activity to help at home. On returning, Ravi cannot remember what remained. A short restart note may help more than trying never to be interrupted.

Let's discover together

  1. 1

Not every distraction is under our control. Ravi can close an unnecessary tab but may not be able to silence the home. Look for one possible change and respect other people’s needs.

  2. 2

When stopping, Ravi writes: “I compared the leaves; the names still need adding.” A drawing or equivalent marker can work too. This cue describes the task’s state and avoids relying only on memory.

  3. 3

Resting and resuming can be part of a workable routine. This path has no mandatory timer. If an adjustment does not help, try another; concentration varies with the task, environment and person.

A moment to understand

Which note best helps resume a task?

I need a hint

A concrete cue identifies the next step. General pressure does not show where work stopped or resolve environmental conditions.

Take it with you

In a drawing or invented task, mark a pause and a restart cue. Test whether someone can understand the next action without knowing the whole task.
