The language and the tools

Let’s open an idea garden on the web. Rust and Rullst work together, but each has its own role.

Let's discover together

  1. 1

Rust is the language used to write the program. Rullst is a framework: a set of Rust tools that helps build applications, including web applications.

  2. 2

In this garden, the server program receives requests and sends pages. The browser receives the HTML and displays its content. Both can run on the same computer during a local test.

  3. 3

Using a framework does not decide the content for you. You choose the pages, paths and what each response should show. We will start with two public pages, without accounts.

A moment to understand

Does Rullst replace the Rust language in this project?

I need a hint

A framework provides tools used in a language; it does not replace that language.

Take it with you

Draw two boxes: browser and server. Add an arrow for the request and another for the response. The person writing the program has a separate role.
