The copy that can come back

The team’s drawing disappears. Having a copy helps; restoring it confirms the plan.

Let's discover together

  1. 1

A backup is a recovery copy. A second folder on the same disk can disappear with the original if the disk fails.

  2. 2

Synchronization keeps locations in agreement and can propagate deletions. Check whether the service keeps versions and for how long.

  3. 3

Keep a separate, protected copy, with adult help when needed. Test restoration in another location without overwriting the original.

✦
YOUR MISSION

Choose a copy that survives a disk failure and a restore test that preserves the original.

Now it's your turn

Discovery workshop

The copy that can come back

Plan A: original and copy on the same disk. Plan B: original on the computer and a protected copy on another device, disconnected after copying. The team will test using fictional files only.

A moment to understand

Is syncing always the same as having a recoverable backup?

I need a hint

If deletion is synced too, what lets you go back?

Take it with you

Draw a fictional plan of what to copy, where to store it and how to test recovery.

A reference to revisit and experiment with later.

backup: separate protected copy
restore_target: new test folder
verification: open restored file
