Computational thinking: from idea to plan · Lesson 07 / 07

Mission: your planning workshop

Now you are the plan’s author. Choose instructions, make a prediction and follow execution. The same plan must work in dry weather, rain and when there are no orders.

Let's discover together

  1. 1

Packing creates one complete kit on the bench. Only one kit fits at a time: deliver it before packing another. Delivery requires a ready kit and, when it rains, protection.

  2. 2

Protect if it rains acts only in rainy scenarios. Always protect also acts in dry weather and violates our rule against unnecessary protection. “Do nothing” simply advances to the next step.

  3. 3

Choose four steps and the repetition rule. Before running, predict how many deliveries will happen. The trace shows each action, the delivery total and the first failure; old results clear when the plan changes.

  4. 4

Try the four scenarios: one dry order, one rainy order, three rainy orders and zero orders. When you check the activity, Rullst Academy recalculates the tests; entering a prediction or publishing on GitHub does not award XP.

  5. 5

After completing the path, download an editable workshop to continue offline. It runs and downloads your plan but does not sync or award Rullst Academy progress. In this lesson’s file workspace you can also keep a Markdown copy of the plan.

YOUR MISSION

Build an algorithm with sequence, condition and repetition that satisfies the model’s tests, and explain its limits.

Now it's your turn

Discovery workshop

Mission: your planning workshop

Fictional workshop: enough materials; one kit per order; extra protection only in rain; no extra or missing deliveries. The four steps form the repeated block.

Planning workshop

Model: one kit per order; bench space for one kit; enough materials; extra protection only in rain.

Predict before running a scenario. The full suite checks four scenarios independently of your prediction.

Choose the four steps and repetition. Then test your plan.

Lesson selectors use Rullst Academy’s local draft. Download saves a plan copy; copying to files lets you review and upload to GitHub. The final ZIP contains a starter project, not your current copy.

A moment to understand

The four tests passed. What can we claim?

I need a hint

Test action order, the rain condition and the repetition count. A plan that works in only one scenario still needs revision.

How can I tell what I learned?

Use the objectives and challenge below for reflection or a conversation with someone who can help. This is guided self-assessment: it sends no answers, awards no XP and does not automatically verify independence.

In Discovery, explain an idea in your own words and apply it to another simple example. Drawings, speech and adult support are valid. Record what help you needed.

Your transfer challenge

Record the plan, one failure you found and its fix. Explain why zero matters. How would the model change if materials ran out? Compare your explanation with test results.

Keep evidence: prediction, attempt, result, an original change and what you still cannot explain. Seek feedback when possible; if studying alone, return later without copying and compare attempts.

Try again another time

After a break, explain the idea without opening the solution and try a different example. Compare with your first attempt: what can you do independently, and where do you need a hint? You may write, speak or draw; choose a way to check the same idea. Record help received, including AI, and revisit the part you need. There is no universal deadline or extra XP for this record.

Completions and XP record Rullst Academy assessments. An introductory track can help everyday life and prepare further study; alone it does not prove complete mastery or professional readiness. Level indicates depth, not age.

Take it with you

My files and GitHub

Every lesson can become your own record: code, notes or a practice plan. Saving a file to GitHub is optional and does not change your XP.
